Hildy's Painting

My art can best be described as a highly personal expression of the earth’s whimsical life-force that I witness on a daily basis. Whether they feature quizzical koi fish, ominous crows, or a soothing Asian girl named Sachi, my paintings’ designs attempt to capture that unspoken creative force each earthly being unconsciously resonates with and expresses in their daily lives.

I use a simplistic yet colorful style that has been fueled by my years of teaching children. I am exploring in my art flowing, ascending, vibrancy and how to fully embrace femininity.

My experience with art extends beyond frame and canvas. Over the past thirty years I’ve dabbled in commercial art, technical and curricular illustration, greeting cards, even theater sets. In addition to holding a B.A. in Art from Humbolt State University, I have used my degree in Education from University of Montana during many memorable years of teaching children about the wonders of art.

As the poet, Rumi, once said, “Listen, make a way for yourself, inside yourself, stop looking in the other way.” As I embrace my way, I take comfort in knowing that creating makes my heart sing. It is my hope that the joy, whimsy and flowing force that I witness each day is expressed in my art.
