Jill's JewelryStill More of Jill's JewelryI am a full-time high school science teacher, teaching Chemistry, Astronomy and Marine Biology at Saratoga High School. Outside of teaching, I have always pursued some sort of creative endeavor, including multimedia work, cooking, and learning Spanish, all of which have become lifelong activities. My most recent endeavor is jewelry making. I started my business, Jill McCrystal Jewelry, in January of 2006, putting my scientific interest in geology (gemstones) to a creative purpose. My main mode of jewelry assembly is through wire wrapping and hand knotting, and my main media are gemstones, pearls and handmade lampwork beads (made by very select bead artists). My first love was gemstones and with these I began my business.Jill's Jewelry After my first showing at the Boulder Creek Art and Wine Festival I was asked by the owner of the local Art Gallery, Robert West of Verrerie Goods, to include my work in his gallery. His gallery mainly shows glass art, so at this point I began researching glass bead artists and began to include it in my work. I love it for it’s ability to add colors that are otherwise unavailable in natural media.

More of Jill's JewelryI have enjoyed a good two years in the Boulder Creek Gallery with many return customers with whom I take great care to work with in their requests for custom adjustments to the jewelry I sell there. I have enjoyed contributing to the community where I live. It is important to me to be part of the community where I show my jewelry. Being a teacher of 10 years at the local high school, and who will continue to be part of this community until I retire, I am delighted to show my work in the town of Saratoga.
